Cobalt Freckle Hand-Thrown Catchall Dish

Hand-thrown in Chattanooga by local ceramic artist Austin Memmer, the Blue Freckle Catchall Dish is a versatile little piece made to find its place throughout the home. Finished in a creamy glaze with expressive cobalt-blue splatter, it’s equally at home holding jewelry and collected trinkets, serving something small at the table, or resting beneath a favorite potted plant.

A Chattanooga native with a background in interior design, Austin spent several years designing custom pools and outdoor living spaces before returning to an early love of pottery and ultimately pursuing ceramics full-time. Her work reflects her designer’s eye while embracing the organic shapes, subtle irregularities, and imperfect beauty that make handmade pieces so special.

Much of Austin’s inspiration comes from nature and travel. She and her husband are on a mission to visit every national park in the United States, finding inspiration along the way in landscapes, local food, color, texture, and the beauty of places both new and familiar. Her ceramics are an extension of that appreciation—pieces intended not simply to be displayed, but to become part of everyday life.

Each dish is individually thrown and glazed by hand, so no two are exactly alike. Variations in shape, size, glaze, and splatter pattern are natural and make each piece entirely its own.
